Unique piece

ÉCHIRO is a textile sculpture composed in wild silk organza, tinted with a natural pigment extracted from sea urchin spines. Born from a collaboration between designer Tony Jouanneau and researcher Marie Albéric, the piece originates from a scientific process developed at the Sorbonne’s chemistry lab and extended through artisanal exchange in Japan. With delicate pleats and hand-dyed surfaces embracing randomness, the work becomes a surface of dialogue between savoir-faire — honoring Japanese craftsmanship, particularly traditional Shibori techniques, while evoking the fragmented geography of marine archipelagos.
