Trametes is a claustra conceived as a collectible piece, a cultivated object whose materiality and color arise from a fungal growth process. The idea is to propose a grown claustra rather than a manufactured one, made from a bio-based, living material with a low environmental impact.

The claustra structures space without completely partitioning it. Its openwork geometry organizes perspectives, allows air and light to circulate, and ensures a level of privacy suited to its uses. Here, this architectural function meets a controlled biological process: the mycelium becomes the natural binder of a technical composite.

The material is obtained through the colonization of a lignocellulosic substrate composed of beech wood waste from the Sonian Forest. The mycelium develops within it, forming a dense network that provides the mechanical cohesion of the module. This local sourcing enables a low-energy transformation process, without the extraction of new resources or the use of synthetic binders.
